Difference between type 1 and type 2 Diabetes

Share

There is a big difference between type 1 and type 2 Diabetes. Diabetes is a dangerous disease that impacts millions of individuals in the World. Type 1 and Type 2 are basic types of diabetes. Every kind of diabetes has distinct features, hazards, and side effects of its own.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system of the body targets and destroys the cells that make insulin in people with it. The lack of insulin prevents the body from using glucose, or sugar, as fuel. Insulin injections must be administered daily to treat type 1 diabetes, which usually affects children and young adults. If left untreated, it can result in major health issues like heart disease, kidney failure, and blindness.

Type 2 diabetes is the most common type of diabetes which is caused by lifestyle choices including weight and inactivity. It happens when the body is unable to properly use insulin, which raises blood sugar levels. Type 2 diabetes can still result in major health issues like heart disease, stroke, and nerve damage even though it can be controlled with medication and lifestyle modifications.
