Dr. Alexandra Brown is board certified in Family medicine. She gets her medical degree in family medicine at the New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center after earning her medical degree from the University Of Vermont College Of Medicine.
Although Dr. Alexandra Brown was born and raised in New York, she has also lived in France, where she completed a Master’s degree in French Cultural Studies at Columbia University, and Switzerland, where she worked for the World Health Organization on the Polio Eradication Initiative.
Dr. Brown has an interest in both the prevention and treatment of disease led to the development of his enthusiasm for primary care. Additionally, she is particularly interested in women’s health and in providing primary care to LGBTQ+ people.
Dr. Brown appreciates working in partnership with patients, their support networks, and specialists to develop personalized treatment regimens that are both efficient and successful. For her efforts in assisting her patients in obtaining top-notch medical care, Dr. Brown was given the patient advocate award during her residency in 2020.
She also enjoys teaching and collaborates with Columbia family medicine residents on the inpatient service at Allen Hospital as well as with Columbia medical students in the student-run Q clinic. Dr. Brown continues to hone her medical Spanish abilities and speaks French and Spanish with ease.
